drive train problem

I came off a bridge during repaving on a major highway at 65 and there was a huge drop in the road surface. I instantly noticed a vibration and when I slowed down I could hear a scraping sound every time I would press on the accelerator. On closer inspection I noticed oil or grease on the under carriage directly above the u joint by the transfer case. I know the oil is fresh because there is still mud from a couple of weeks ago when I went off-roading and the oil was on the mud. Anybody have any ideas on what I broke. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

What kind of jeep do you have? With absolutely no information on type of jeep or mods it sounds like when it dropped it might have pulled the driveshaft far enough out of the transfer case to spill some fluid. Pull the driveshaft and check the splines and rear output on the transfer case. If there isn't any visible damage leave the driveshaft unbolted from the axle and put the jeep in neutral(with ebrake and wheels chocked), reinsert the driveshaft into the tc, and turn it by hand listening for your noise. Of course if you have a SYE or something then idk.

First are the u-joints still good? If they aren't the "slop" could have destroyed your rear seal which would explain the oil.
