Don Imus - Controversy?

I'm sure you've all been following this story closely as it is probably the most important one in the world right now......urple: Here's a link to a story I found while surfing the other day that pretty much hits the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned. I personally think he did nothing wrong and has been wrongfully terminated. I hope he wins his 40million dollar lawsuit and then starts his own network!

Apparently he had a clause in his contract that said he need to receive a warning before being fired for that sort of thing. He didn't get one. From what I have read he has a solid case. Should be interesting to follow.

I never really liked the guy but he did get a raw deal. I still think he's a freakin' moron for not seeing it coming though :lol:

I never support censorship in the general media. He has a right to free speech as much as anyone, whether talking about the rights of minorities or supporting the idea of white supremacy, one of our country's most fundamental and important ideals is that of free speech.

That being said, I also think CBS (although I feel it was "wrong" personally) has a right to fire anyone that interrupts the flow of income and profitability. I support the right to be a capitalist, and run a business as one sees fit.

He was politically incorrect, and it was an unpopular statement. I didn't like what he said, I think he's a jack ass, but he has a right to say it, as much as CBS has a right to make a business decision...so long as it doesn't breech contract...which evidently it did.

And for the record, the statement wasn't racist.
