It is the amazing Ginsu knife for the engin as far as I am concerned. There is very little that I would put my faith into that anyone would have to work that hard to sell it. If I could come up with a simple add on device that would do what they say that this item does the auto industry would be knocking my door down. My 2 cents tug[addsig]

Question:
Does the Tornado work?
Answer:
Probably yes, under perfect conditions or at the store display it does create a circular airflow.
Question:
Does it make a noticeable difference to performance or mileage installed on a 1989 4.2 I-6 Jeep? Understanding it’s advertised at up to 20 extra horsepower and up to 24% better gas mileage?
Answer:
Not on mine. Then again, I didn’t run it on a Dyno for testing purposes.
Question:
Will it give you an extra 30 miles per tank of gas?
Answer:
Under perfect testing conditions, it probably did, at least once.
Question:
Is it worth the money? $65.00 plus tax and shipping?
Answer:
Mine was free and I still threw it away after testing.

Let’s figure the value of this product.
Now these numbers are estimates only, just to make a point.
Don’t blast my math. (I don’t care)

Let’s say you have a 21-gallon tank and get 15mpg. (It’s possible)
That’s 315 per tank full if you drain it dry. (Which isn’t a good idea)
Now add their estimated additional 30 miles per tank, that’s 345 miles per tank.
Divide the 345 by the 21 gallons in the tank and you now get approx 16.5 mpg. (Rounded off for ease)
If you paid $1.65 per gallon x 21 gallons=$34.65 per tank.
At the old 315 miles per tank you are spending $.11 per mile.
At the new 345 miles per tank you are spending $.10 per mile.
Now, getting those extra 1.5 miles per gallon saves you approx 1.8 gallons per tank x 1.65 per gallon or about $3.00 per tank, but spending $75.00 with tax and shipping for the Tornado. You would have to burn about 25 full to dry tanks of gas just to pay for the Tornado.

That’s if their mileage facts are correct. Gas prices don’t change. You only run your Jeep on a dyno with cruise control engaged. Always tuned, perfect operating condition, never run hard, stop and go traffic or hill climbing, leave your stuff and passengers at home and you completely drain your tank dry every time, and don’t forget removing those 35inch Boggers. Also, if you get worse gas mileage or the Tornado doesn’t increase the miles per tank as advertised, heck, you may never make up the difference before it’s time to sell your Jeep.

You get the idea.

Note: Numbers change due to driving habits, Jeep age or performance, how many years ago you went to school or the time of day you place your post. L.o.L.

Conclusion:
I was given a Tornado for free to use in my 1989 4.2I-6 and I gave it a fair try, hoping to find that extra performance and mileage they talk about. For me, there was no noticeable difference in performance or mileage. I was disappointed to say the least and if I had paid for it, well, a return would have been in order with a full refund. Mine was free and it still ended in the trash.

Think about it. If it actually added up to 20 extra horsepower and up to 24% better gas mileage then you would expect it to be installed by the manufacture on every new vehicle sold? If true, it should be a crime not to install it and save out precious resources.

Correct?

Just imagine if every vehicle on the planet increased it’s mileage by 24%, plus that extra fuel saved from those four tipped spark plugs, hi performance wind deflectors and the other entire bolt on items we could help solve world hunger.(Or at least put a dent in it)

Note: If it’s to good to be true, it probably isn’t. :-D  8-) [addsig]
