so my buddy just got a purty 2000 XJ. nice ride and all. Hes a little sore in the wallet right now, but the thought of working on it and making it half as cool as my YJ is very exciting to me. Hes not going to be able to afford a full lift kit for a long while, so whats a good way to lift one cheap? i know they have spring & coils so can u do a shackle lift in back and a spacer lift up front? or maybe addaleafs in the back? im new to the XJ world (something about a jeep that cant strip down isn't exciting to me...lol) fill me in

depends on how much lift he wants, if all he wants to do is fit some 30's easily, smack a 1" spacer up front, and a 1" shackle lift in the back (2" longer shackle)... some longer shocks if you can afford 'em... and you're good to go...

i wouldn't do any sort of cheesy lift technique to go any higher than 1", its just not worth it...[addsig]
