Dead Jeep...

So, when it got down to 1 the other night, for whatever reason, the battery froze up, both in the afternoon, and the evening... When it happened the first time, when it was 4 degrees, the only way that I could start the Jeep up (after thawing and jumping battery) was to floor it while cranking, but it would not hold an idle; if I wasn't feathering the gas, it'd just quit, and I couldn't start it unless my foot was floored... After about 15 minutes of feathering and testing, it finally started to hold a low idle... It drove fine, shifting a little odd though. That night at work when it died again, after thawing battery again, and jumping again, started and ran fine... Battery was not totally froze second time, and had maintained somewhat of a charge, but there was ice floating in the caps...

So... My theory is that the comp somehow got reset by not having any power, forgot it's idle settings, drive settings, things like that, which would explain the non-idling, and the odd shifting... After driving it around for a little while, it's fine, hasn't given me any problems... I'm going to have it out in the garage to warm up to affix my MichiganJeepers stickers (and if we had Jeepz.com ones, I'd slap 'em on there too)...

I guess my question is, is there anything that I need to look at, and am I on the right track with my guess about the computer... It was very cold, and very windy, so of course it's not gonna start like a midsummers day, but it died immediately as soon as your foot was off the gas. Maybe a sensor or something was frozen?

...And before anyone points it out, I know I need a new battery (any suggestions?) Through some twisted foolishness, I get paid 2 days after Christmas, so have to deal with it one more week, though it's holding a charge for a day and a half now...

Oregon Poll went Bye-Bye?

Popping back to top, hasn't had any problems since, so I guess my theory might have been right, just thought I'd update...
