1, how can i remove my nj inspection sticker, to install it on a new windshield?

Does calling Quadratec or 4WD and getting new ones count?

Sometimes one of those polishing compounds (I have used Flitz in the past) will improve them, but this is a short term solution, and only works on very light scratches (and only improves those; it will not fix them). It also takes a lot of elbow grease! If your problem is that the plastic itself becoming less transparent, I strongly sugest the option above!

There are products for the soft windows to clear them up. They are available through Quadratec, 4WD Hardware, and probably eBay. I have heard they can "yellow" the windows somewhat.

as for the inspection sticker - check the local authorities for a replacement as they are destructive and can't be removed w/out tearing them up (by design) - the soft top windows - eh... heard lots of "tips" on that but none that work well - beside replacing them.... just my $.02

They are designed to not be able to be transferred, if you try it, you'll just destroy it

This can be done but it is illegal (atleast in Pa) If you take a propane torch and heat the outside of glass (don't hold in one spot) then gently use a raxor blade to scrap up a corner so you grab ahold of it, then keep heating it and working it off from the glass. This will ruin the glue on the sticker and you will probably need some super glue to adhere to the new windshield (only in a couple of small spots).

But, if it were me I would take it back to the inspection station and have them do it. most of the time they will only charge you for the new sticker and not the whole inspection process.

thats what i was talking about - take the remains and an explaination to the inpspection office - when i was a kid outside orlando, florida had annual inspections and my dad had to do that when he got a windshield replaced... course, that was 30 yrs ago and the gov't wasn't as money hungry then (so i'm told...)

In Jersey if you are getting the window replaced at a shop they should switch it for you. When the windshield cracked in my new tacoma the glass company switched the sticker for me : )
