Murphy's law applied to the soldier in combat:
Incoming friendly fire is not friendly.
If it can blow up, it will.
Never throw hand grenades in upper story windows, if you miss guess where is going to land?
Remember that your weapon was manufactured by the lowest bidder.
There really is no good day to die
Getting shot hurts
Men really do cry
In battle --duck-- is not a bird
No one in there right mind jumps out of perfectly good airplanes
You only win a battle by making the other poor bastard die for his country
Automatic weapons are not - if they were they wouldn't need soldiers
If you hear the crack of the bullet it missed you---unfortunately it got your friend.

oh ok...my dad was mechanized...for some reason i always think 11b was mechanized...

I jumped for 3 years in the military and I never once saw a perfectly good military aircraft! I was very thankful to be wearing a parachute when I flew in one. I was also very thankful to get off one weather I walked out the door or jumped!

Well that's good news then. I flew on one this weekend for the first time and I was covered with a bunch of little drops of something. I figured it was best I didn't ask!
