RE: attn: 90xjay

Does anyone know if an ax15 from a Comanche will fit a wrangler? I'm just trying to find out what all I can find a donor transmission in. I know a Cherokee transmission has to have the tcase mount holes redrilled to get the front drive line angle. Found a write-up on that. I can't find any info on Comanches though. Wrangler trannies seem to be scarce around my neck of the woods.

The transfer case will need to be clocked up on the MJ transmission same as the XJ.

RE: Re: RE: Steam from front end

I used an XJ transmission in my wrangler. I never clocked the Tcase. I modified my skidplate instead and have never had any problems since

RE: cracked flexplate ..... why me?

Sure, it can be done either way. How much ground clearance did you give up? Inch or two?

Not a bit, it never went below the skidplate, just had to modify the crease in the edge of it

RE: Differential Whining?

I might have got lucky for once. Just won an 89 wrangler ax15, bell housing, and shifter on ebay for about a hundred bucks plus shipping. Now to find a 231 tcase, rebuild new transmission, and ditch the Peugeot.

Just be careful pulling a comanche transmission and don't get one of those pitiful Renault jobs. They suck!!
