Colorado Tornadoes

I thought I'd send a picture so you could see what's happened here.

It is a picture of a tornado approaching a customer's building. They had some windows implode but the structure was OK. The building next door to them had the roof removed by the storm.

Denver and the front range of the Rocky Mountains are at the western edge of the United State's Tornado Alley.

Jeepers, that's a big tornado! cewtwo, how close were you to that sucker? What was the EF rating of that one?

A tornado touched down in the housing development right next to my apartment building on the 8th of this month. Destroyed at least two dozen homes and damaged a lot of trees and buildings in my apartment complex. Luckily no damage came to my building or vehicles. That was one heck of an experience, though. I haven't been that close to a tornado before. The weather service rated it as an EF2, ~120mph winds.

That is a great picture! I would love to be able to see one from that far away. Problem in Birmingham we have enough hills so you never see them coming!

Have you noticed that "Tornado Alley" has been gradually moving northward?

When I was a kid here in North Texas the line was just South of the Red River just below the Oklahoma border.

Pretty soon the "alley" may be in Canada...
