lost right now and trying not to change out a clutch before exploring options. 07 Rubicon 6-speed 4x4.....So yesterday the clutch release point was about an inch or less off the floor board which is obviously way to early and there was almost no resistance in the pedal. Also was having issues putting into gear. This happened all of the sudden with no indications something was wrong earlier in the day. If anyone has had a similar issue or has heard of some possibilities as to what it could be I would appreciate the help

I had this on my YJ. Same symptoms. My issue was the slave master cylinder. Pull the slave cylinder out of the transmission. Have someone push in the clutch. In my case, the slave didn't move. I replaced both the slave and master since I didn't want to have the master fail later.

I would check clutch fluid resivor first as low level will cause your symptoms. If not the fluid level, look to the slave cyl. I doubt its the clutch already

Had same prob with Commanchee pickup (4.2 6 cyl, 5 spd) few years ago. Replaced clutch slave cyl and all was fine. Not that hard to replace.
