Clunking

Hey hey. Anyone out there ever had their XJ sound like the shocks "clunk".
So I noticed because it was hot. I had the windows down and thought I was hearing a wierd sound. When I would hit a speed bump (on of those big ones meant for like 20 mph) I would hear a hiss (maybe). Then when I came off the other side it sounded like a shock mount was loose or something. I couldn't find anything yet, but it's an odd thing that has me worried. I don't think that the shocks are bad, because the jeep doesn't bounce all over when I shove down on the corner.

Any ideas? Thought? Things that I should have already thought about but didn't?

check your front coil springs to make sure there sitting in the coil buckets right. They some times turn and that the clunking you hear.

The hiss sounds like it could be normal shock compression, the clunk sounds like other part(s) are loose/bad. I'd check balljoints, control arm bushings, and the front trackbar.

hi, Does it still make this noise while your foot is touching the brake?
