Okay, so I know all the internal and performance differences between the NP203, NP205, and NP206, but I don't have a clue how to recognize the outside of them. Anyone have a good link to (or can describe) what they look like???

Also, With the NP203 being a "full time" T-case, does that mean it will not have manual locking hubs, or will it?

NP203 was from '73-82
NP205 was from '73-82
NP208 was from '83-87
NP241 was '88 and newer

Right :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

I just realized that the auminum and iron ones weren't even in production during the same years, so I guess that doesn't matter.

Didn't even think about that Corrupt!!! Guess I'm a little tired right now

304, t176, t4, np231

Yeah, it's obvious which is which. The NP208 has a slipyoke and is chain driven. The 208 is gaining popularity with "middle of the road" mud racers who are looking for lightweight parts. They are easy to locate too, an NP205 is getting a little harder to find around here.

An NP203 isn't THAT bad if it's converted to part-time operation. They are really heavy though, and chain driven. No hubs with the 203 unless it's been converted already.

I think those were the only cases used in that time frame.

So if i've got a '74 Chevy, and it is not full time 4x4, it has to be an NP205, right?
I think that is right, but I just want someone to back me up on that.

Please say it's a 205, please say it's a 205.....!!!!!!

The 205 is a solid chunk of iron. If you get a hernia then you have a 205.
