Changed to synthetic blend oil, should water temp drop?

I've started taking the plunge from regular oil on my way to full synthetic.
I'm going the route of a synthetic blend as a mid-point. I've expected some benefits but one thing that has changed that I didn't expect is the the water temp guage now reads about 10 degrees less than it used to.
I'd like to think this is a good thing...engine running a little cooler but I wanted to get some input from the group.

Re: RE: What

it makes sense that less friction would result in less heat, but i never heard of a temp drop based on the type of oil...i'll have to test that out the next time i change my oil :)

Ive heard of it. You can also gain 1 or 2 mpg by switching to full synthetics all the way around. But I dont have any personal experience.

Not an expert on oil but what i have heard is that u should go full synthetic or just go conventional because they can add 1% and call it a blend so u dont really know what u are getting.

RE: Polar Bears

Not trying to sound like a commercial, but I have used an additive called ER. About two years ago I started using it and I have noticed the same thing. Engine temp decreased about 10 degrees. The old four banger keeps on tickin like normal. ;)
