can eny body tell me whats better motorcraft 2100,2150 or a new weber k55138 for my 89yj 258.i am going to buy anew one ,with you guys expertease
i was hoping you could tell me witch one of these is best before i spend 500 on anew carb.thanks

I have both. Like the performance of the weber better, but the MC is a lot cheaper and is EASY to work on. Collins Bros (who absolutely rape you pricewise most of the time) have a copy of the 32/36 Weber for $289 that has gotten good reviews so far over on Jeepforum.

I have a 3100 on my 89 YJ and have had great success, easier to tune and easy to convert. Once your weber goes down the crapper I think it is a great alternative. There is a guy on ebay ehrmann or something like that, that sets them up and sells a complete conversion kit with great one to one phone assistance during the conversion.

I've seen a lot of complaints on ehrmann lately in my forum browsings. Seems he's not able to provide 1.08's to everyone so he's started shipping 1.21's a lot (and some have been worn out to the point where a rebuild doesn't work). The main benefit of the 2100 is cost and if you're gonna pay $275 definately get the Weber/weber copy. If you don't want to spend that much find a 2100 in the local junkyard, get a throttle cable for an early 80's CJ7 with V8 (got mine at Jeepdoc), new cheapie air cleaner from autozone, rebuild kit from autozone, and adapter plate from Jegs or similiar. I did my whole swap for about $80 and it does run great. As I said before, the MC2100 doesn't have the power the Weber has, but it is a great carb and if you get your own stuff you can do the 2100 swap on the cheap.
