carb problem please help

i got a 83cj7 with a your usual 2bbl carb. Last week it would crank but wouldnt fire. I had to replace the distributor cover, wires, and rotor. Now it starts but its bogging when I drive. My friend was checking out my carb when I had the problem before and he took it off. He put it back on but I think the linkage with the accelerter is off. Would that cause my acceleration to suck as I drive? Any help would be great

If you are talking about the linkage to the accelerator pump, yes. Did you get all the vacuum lines hooked back up? Are they where they came off? Is it sucking air around the base? Spray wd40 around the base while running and see if idle changes. Also, did you turn the distributor any when changing the cap?
