California smog and old jeeps

Well the darn thing passed. With the howell kit installed I went from 3 digit readings which were the highest his machine registered to single digit readings. Thank goodness, i don't know what else i could have done. Now to tackle the brakes this weekend. might wait till the next one because i feel that we will be kicking up some dust.

What is a Howell Kit? My YJ has a small smog problem...it wont pass in San Diego County

You can take all the smog equipment off except for the EGR, CAT and vacuum canister. My was in bad shape till I put this kit in. Its a GM throttle body and they supply you a computer, CARB EO sticker and all the wiring harness needed.
