The Superior kit upgrades the spline count from 27 to 30, so the whole kit is needed not just the shafts. The kit includes a new Detroit locker to match the bigger shafts. Because of the better materials and manufacturing process, with the kit you will be stronger than a factory D44 as far as the shafts go, but your housing is kind of weak. A full length heavy truss should be considered.
