braking problems...

i put a 3" lift on my 97 cherokee about a week ago, and ever since i have noticed a significant amount of pull (enough to where i have to fight the steering wheel a good bit) to the right whenever i brake. i can't think of why putting a lift on would have affected anything... but it has just started since then. i replaced the pads about 3 months ago and everything was in good shape then (rotors, etc...). anybody have any ideas? thanks for any help!

did you put on exrended brake lines? is there a possability that you didnt get them bleed good enough ?

Did you have the front end re-aligned after installing the lift? It may not be a brake problem.

yes i did have the front end re-aligned... and used a brake line extension bracket... i'll look into the possibility that the system wasn't bled well enough. thanks for the info!

bleeding may help a lot... and... sometimes you think you have it bled, then you really don't... what i suggest is to gravity bleed them... get a hose on all bleeders, open them all up, then sit at the master with a buttload of fluid, when it gets low, fill it up, gets low, fill it up... etc... some vehicles will not allow this... i have not tried it on my jeep yet... but it might allow you to gravity bleed... what this does is runs ALL of the lines with clean, airless fluid... but this is to be done in reverse of what normal bleeding should be done.... usually, you start at the most distant wheel from the master, then work your way closer... with this method... when you think the CLOSEST wheel has been flushed all the way, close it, then eventually work your way to the most distant

I have gravity bled my cherokee before... but it took much longer and didn't seem to work any better than bleeding the brakes using the pedal method.

Also, maybe one of those rubber brake hoses has collapsed inside. That would cause the caliper to lock up and drag.
