Black Betty is back on the road

Been driving 'BB' for a week now on my 20 miles commute and she's purring like a kitten these days, at long last. The only nits are despite a new Omix speedometer cable something's amiss, the odometer turns but not the speed indicator, my guess is the internal plastic gears are shot. Been using my tachomter and amplitude of my exhaust to gauge my speed until I get to the bottom of this. Also the brake master cylinder seems to sporadically leak, despite a new gasket (made in China). Other than that, I'm enjoying have 'BB' running reliably again.

Glad to hear you got her back on the road.
Few things I've run into with a aftermarket speedometer. Along time ago mind you.

Is the cable spinning the correct direction for this speedometer?
Is the cable fully inserted?

our master was losing fluid into the booster and it was being sucked into the engine. it was an easy change though and now we have not had to add brake fluid in a few months.

at least you don;t need a speedo for inspection, at least not here in texas. hopefully the same there

Was just about to get into the speedomter cable when the horn got stuck on. Pulled the horn button and the wire in the guts of the column seems loose, got to find my steering wheel puller once it cools off around here. I'll replace that Haz button that won't stay pushed in while I'm at it.
