best yr for cj

i was just wondering what everyones opinion for the best cj year was. my vote would be for 80 b/c 304, and d300.... a few other good years are 79 w/ T18, and even 86 w/ the D44.... what your opinion?? :-D [addsig]

the 304 produced the most horsepower and torque in the earlier models

The 304 has better torque,and has about 40hp more than the 258.I think it was the 82-86 that they started useing disk brakes in front.I think I like the 86 because dana 44 and disk brakes. :wink: Sully[addsig]

Were front disc brakes standard at some point?
Were they only optional? Curious if I need to be
specifying that I want discs when I start hunting.

they became std in 81 or 82 i think, my 82 has em, and it has almost no options [addsig]
