best CJ7 setup

I'm just starting to do some research for my project CJ7. I'm looking for feedback on what the best setups for CJ7s. Which engine is best, which model year, which transmission, which axles, transfer case, etc.



Then, which modifications are best? Which lift kits are best, tire size, locking diff, etc.?



I'm looking for a CJ7 that is as stock as I can find it. I want the engine to be in good shape. The mods I want to make are lift, locking diff, disc brakes (?), power steering (?), etc.



Any help would be appreciated.

It has been 16 years since the end of the CJ7,many have had 3 or more owners.



IMO go with a '86 CJ7 (if you can find one) They had 258,5 speed,D300,D44 rear axle.[addsig]
