last weekend i herculined my jeep for a sum of 7 hours and 90$. By far the best mod i have done so far to my 95 YJ. It looks great and was cheap...

other "mods" ive done are adding kc daylighters, gettin a variety of tops (hard and soft), american racing wheels, nerf bars, euro light guards, tow hooks front and rear, new front speakers and im sure there more...

But ive still got the bug. Ive got about 150 dollars for my next mod, and im just wondering what everyone elses favorite mods they've done that are in that price range.

Trying to get some ideas...

I was thinking about buying a fire extinguisher or a hi lift jack??

Help me feed my jeep bug!~ bj[addsig]

If it's a 5 speed...be sure to go for the thumb throttle...very inexpensive and a great mod...and go for the hi lift....it's a God send on the trail.

Here's a link to the Thumb Throttle.

Bang for the buck well my money is on a K&N Filter for the stock air box. A little exaust work like droponing or hollowing out the cat and a good flowing muffler. This will come back in the form or preformance and mileage. As for the little things that you can do cheap, Good set of interior lights and a toggle switch is great in my book. Nothing like being on the trail at night and needing to find or fix some thing in the dark. The interior of ol Jeezabell will light up like a small town. Good luck and the bug never dies. tug[addsig]

Boston,

I have a brand new jeep too and am also working on a comparing mods/additions and value.

I too have decided on some of the stuff you have, like tow hooks front and rear w/straps, hi-lifter jack, bikini top, soft top storage bag, door entry gaurds, fire extingisher, neoprene seat covers, sport handles (maybe), side step bars, tubular bumpers, bike rack, <lord this list is getting long> and swaybar discos.

And getting stuck already, I think I'll get a travel shovel and some pieces of 2X6 and some work gloves too.

Good thing I've got a part time job. This addiction is running rampant in my viens even after only owning it for a month. Yet to name her, gotta thunk on that one.

Have fun! [addsig]

Hey Lady...just my opinion, but if your gonna turn that thing into a trail rig, think twice about the step rails..they take away alot of clearence when your on a trail..just a thought.

I have heard that about the steps. I really don't need one on my side but the rear passengers seem to be having a hell of a time getting in and out, specially out. Any advice?[addsig]

buy a small step stool LOL

Actually, Graewulf was showing me these the other day......

Side Steps

Might want to give those a look.

use a chain step.. get some 5/16 chain and make a "U" out of it.. this way you can step up but it folds out of the way if you go over something...

Since getting rock rails is out for my Jeep (tera-flex long arm kit) I have found these little beauties for a step in and some what of a rock rail. Four X Doctor makes these little side rail for 265 and you can use them as a hi-lift point as well as a step.[addsig]

I think that the fire bottles look great on any rig. I've seen them on a couple and they look great. Of course they offer the function too. Anybody know how much they go for?
Hi-lift is a great idea too. I can't trail ride (too young) but I see the advantage from hearing stories. Best of Luck.

Do you have a winch?...If a winch is out of your price range, you might want to pick up a come-along (hand winch). I have one and it's saved me quite a few times. You might also want to look into a good tow strap...I picked up my 30 foot, 30,000 pound Explorer Pro Comp tow strap for $90 Canadian. Rock lights under your jeep are also a good, cheap mod (cheap round reverse lights work great).[addsig]

When I got my Jeep I was all about getting a bunch of good looking stuff and some stainless for the thing! Then I stumbled onto the Jeepz.com site and it might have been Mudderchuck that told me "Chrome won't get you home" Well that hit me and stuck hard. Now if the dooalr don't make it run better, pull harder, Crawl over things better, allow me to be removed from an embarsing stuck spot ezer, help a fellow jeeper out of a stuck spot better, or keep me and my passengers safer I dont have much use for it.

So take a few stand back and ask what will this do to my jeep that will make a more worthy, go anywhere ride. If you feel a cute tube bumber will do you more good that a Bull Bumper, or an Ugly Mutha Bumper then get the cute one. Just my 2 cents tug[addsig]

lol Tug, I do think the tube bumper will do me. I don't have rocks where I live-----at all. More mud and sand than anything. I am not looking to make a mean huge vehicle to do the extra serious off road stuff with because it is my daily driver also and we just don't have those things available around here anyway. I do want to give it some mods that will help offroading in general but stay out of the monster truck arena. Thanks for the input everyone!

Those little steps and the U chain are good ideas, I will keep them in mind. 8-) [addsig]

So that is where you got that bumper tug! I thinking of getting one now. I like the one you got. Don't need the receiver one, right price too!

my first mod has always been sway bar disco's
