Back Bumper will it add SAFETY?

Safety as in a crash? No. Safety as in you can get pulled out after getting yoursefl stuck? Yes.

It would not protect you anymore than factory, unless you need to justify the cost to the wife, then yes it is a must for safety:lol:.

There are stronger bumpers on the market made from 2"x4" tube or similar. I think anything will be stronger than the OEM bumperettes.

Thanks for the info,

They do not need to be a tube design bumper. Only requirement is that I want to have hitch.

JCR Stage 2 rear bumper here; includes 2" receiver that is conceiled nicely, and pretty strong (not open on the rear like some out there, which is nice to keep the mud out!)

Doesn't matter what you put on the back of the jeep, nothing will improve the safety of your jeep in a rear end collision unless you plate your frame rails the entire length and then add a crumple zone between the passenger compartment portion of the frame and the rear bumper itself. in a light rear end collision, a bumper might save the body a bit, but regardless of what is hanging off the rear crossmember, the force from the impact will be transfered to the rest of the frame in teh same manner.
