AX5 to AX15 swap now possible

The info is HERE. Never before has it been possible to upgrade to the AX15 from the weak AX5 that comes behind the 2.5L in Jeeps. This upgrade is pretty simple, with no major modifications to bellhousings or shifters or anything else that was associated with swapping in other stronger trannies.

I knew somebody would eventually figure this swap out, just never figured it would be with an OEM bellhousing.

how are the gear ratios compared in the two... would that take away or add any performance?

I think the AX5 has slightly lower gearing, but it's so slight a difference I don't think it's noticable. I'm sure there's a chart online somewhere.

i think i do remember reading of its lower gearing... but you're right... i dont' think that it would be enough of a difference to cry about
