hey im thinking about getting a K& N filter- im not sure whether to get the one that drops in the box or the other.. whats the actual performance and price difference?

also, ive hearrd that a great free mod is to remove the airflow restrictor coming from the airbox-ijust wanted to know if 95 XJ's have that restrictor and how to remove it- and seal the tube back up..

thanx
and keep on waving

The drop in air filter is like 50 and the whole kit (called the FIPK) is like 250, give or take. No idea about performance, but the FIPK (the new intake cone) would in my opinion be better because the Jeeps air box is so closed off. There are also some other posts similar to yours if you wanna search through these, including how to make your own and other air intake help.
Hope this helps

search for some old posts. i actually had the drop in filter in mine first... then upgraded to the entire kid. the drop in did nothing, but the kit made a definite improvement. instead of paying $250 for the kit from K&N (like i did... stupid me), buy it from someplace like rustysoffroad.com. they make a custom air-tube and sell a K&N cone filter along with it for much less (i don't remember how much, but its under $100).
