Looking for a Remmedy

Just bought a 97 Grand Cherokee and I need to replace the ac evaporater. Does anyone know how to access it to replace it?

A/C work is best left to a professional...
Not to be mean, But if just a little moisture gets in the lines and not properly evacuated it will cause REAL damage.

Hi,

My guess would be by taking apart most if not all of the lower dash.

The evaporator coil, like the heater core, is one of those things which is buried in the dash and will be a bit of a pain to remove...

Why does it need replacing? does it have a hole in it?

Thanks for the info on the ac repair. Its too much for me to pull the dash( the evaporater is leaking) so I'm having a professional do it. Thanks again.

I just returned from having my XJ's AC system charged. I'm not trying to discourage you but I asked the guy about the evaporator and all I can tell you is bring your plastic, 'cause it's probably going to be costly :| .
