99 GJC Limited Questions and Conserns

I just took over the payments on a 99 GJC Limited. When it was purchased last Feb 02 it has 40k miles and in very good condition. I just got it in Jan 03 and it has 92k miles and nothing was done to it during that time. I know I am going to have to spend some money getting it back in order. But the thing is I don't know anything about cars nor trucks. I just know how to drive them well- lol



I don't do any off-roading at all and I live in Chicago. I drive 50miles a day for work 5 days a week. I am looking to get another car just to travel to work so I will take care of the miles. But I don't know what I need to do first. I am planning to get an oil change and a tune up also the brake light comes on and off but doesn't stay on. Which makes me think I need to get them looked at. All in all, I think it is a good decision.. Help a brother out. Also, if anyone were willing to teach one or two things about trucks that would help too.. Please let me know something before I over look something and end up with a costly problem. Also chysler did say it was still a good truck it just needed sol TLC. HELP.......



Also is this truck suppose to eat up gas like this.... I swear since this past Saturday I have filled up like three of four times.

I have the same jeep. I get 13-14 mpg city and 17-18 on the highway. Its the curse of the V8. Great power bad gas mileage. It sounds like a loose wire connection or something with your brake light. Check the fuses and the wiring.
