97 wrangler sport top fray

Fall is just around the corner in rainy Oregon and my top is fraying at the ends of those clips above the door. Someone said pro seamstress or buy a bimini. are these my only options? why did it happen anyway Im wondering? was I too rough with it or just a bad design? any ideas?

Hello, hopesail,

I have no idea why your top is fraying, but in my experience the best bets to get a top repaired are:

A car convertible top shop

A cobbler (shoe repair) shop

A horse tack repair shop

A canvas awning shop

A boat canvas shop

All of the above are equipped with the industrial-strength sewing machines required to machine sew convertible top materials.
