97 Jeep Wrangler loss of Throttle/Power

I have a 97 TJ. It 1st started playing up when I was on a road trip with the kids. The CEL came on & it had a very noticeable drop in power with added stutter. The CEL came off after a layover & had no more issues until I was doing 110Km/h on the last leg. The rev's would not come under 1500 for the last 25Km. I flashed the PCM & it worked fine for a week or so, but then the same problem came back.
I purchased a new TPS & had a full tip to toe service, (I was working 9 shifts a week so had no time to do any work myself) and the problem seemed to clear up.
I am now on a holiday with the kids & the same problem has come back, minus the high revs. This happens at both low/high revs, 1st gear through to 5th gear, cold engine through to operating temp. The stutter feels like a misfire, but no CEL. I have a work van that had dirty injectors due to the servo it was being filled up at, but after running injector cleaner through it the problem disappeared.
I have hit the carb up with throttle body cleaner, (This actually has helped but for limited Km's) I have pulled out the injectors, checked the ring's & cleaned them, & run the engine with high percentage injector cleaner/fuel mixture, (as per my work van) but the problem is not going away.
I now have 1 more week before having to hit the mountains with a trailer on the way home & am in a bit of a stress about this.
I have checked about getting new injectors, but no one stocks them & I am looking at 1 week to have them sent away to get rebuilt (Not an option as we still need to get around)
I am considering flashing the PCM again to see if it clears up the problem long enough for us to get home.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated but also take into consideration that at pres I have limited tools. Once I am back I am able to do any work you guys think may help fix the prob.

maybe you just have a dirty connection somewhere in the mass of wires under the hood? like water or something got in their and corroded the contacts

I had thought that at 1st, but both times my Jeep had not done anything wet weather or off road for some time. Both times that the problem arose I had been road use only for at least 100+ Km's.
I have cleaned all contacts in & around the carby both times.
Is there somewhere that I may have not thought of to clean/check?

Hey Superj, where is the temp senso located in a 97 Wrangler 4lt, & is there a way to test it to see if it is faulty? How would a faulty temp sensor cause intermitant stalls/loss of power?

stalls, i don;t think it will do that but power loss could be from the wrong fuel mixture being sprayed into the cylinder.

do you have multimeter?

A basic one issuper cheap at any mart type store. Like 5 bucks in the automotive section

There r no shops where we are, but i have 1 at home once I make it back....hopefully :)
How do I check the temp sensors & what reading should I be looking for. I have checked the connections for o2 (Both up & down stream) intake manifold, coolant & battery but they look fine.
What readings should I be looking for for a faulty sensor?
Sorry to ask for such detail but I am feed up with not knowing more & relying on others doing the work for me

i cannot help on the actual readings, my jeep is an 87 so my sensors are different. i only have the one that goes to the gauge where (i believe) you have one for the gauge and one for the ecu

A bit of a update. I was out with the kids smashing up some clay roads after a big rain yesterday, and after about 3 hrs the rev's got stuck at 1200-1300. I got back & cleaned up the connectors but nothing. I reset the PCM but nothing. I removed the TPS & MAP sensor & gave them a bit of a clean but nothing. I took out the Idle Air Control Modual & gave it a good clean in & out to get the black soot out of the spring ect & when I started the engine the revs were down to 200 & ruff. The CEL is now on but the revs are evening out.
Could the Idle Air Control Modual affect the engine while under load driving, as per my initial descripton?
