So I'm trying to fix the exhaust leak I have coming from the donut flange area. Bought the new donut and attempted to pull off the old one with no success. ? Is does this even have a donut flange gasket or is it just so old it's welded itself together. I know I should just buy a header and be done with it but I'm wanting to fix it until then. I posted a pic of what it looks like and the replacement gasket.

A lot of vehicles do not come with the donut from the factory. Everything is fresh and new and as long as it is kept in good shape (literally) you won't need a donut.

However, since 'wheeling requires a fair bit of vibration, twisting, stretching, etc., the donut is a good path.

be careful with the donut. if it's not seated properly you'll crush it without knowing and still end up with an exhaust leak. personally if you can stand the fumes, noise, and if your rig runs properly with the exhaust leak I'd leave it until you can replace the exhaust. we did that on our CJ and didnt have any problems until pops blew the motor....

Thanks for the info, I ended up fixing it without the donut, the leak was coming from a missing rear bolt and one not so tight bolt at rear of manifold, put in new bolt and washer and tightened the other and sounds good as new. Got lucky the bolt was 78 cents cheap fixes are nice!
