89 yj lighting problems!!! Help!!

I have an 89 YJ, randomly the headlights, tail lights, brake lights, dash lights, and hazard lights all stopped working??? The reverse lights still work and the signals work. I have been searching for the problem with no luck. Checked the headlight switch, dimmer switch any relays I can find. I have tried following the Chilton wiring diagrams but not the easiest to follow. I have a feeling I am overlooking something simple?? I have voltage to the main switch as soon as i turn it on all voltage is gone, the same thing happens if I put a jumper wire in and bypass the switch. Any suggestions would be great!

Check your grounds.
And the multifunction switch does go bad.

The tail lights are grounded through their mounting bolts. Lots of corrosion forms there, so check that spot, also
