72-74 jeep buggy problem

It ran fine all day then for the last run it started like normal the shut off after a few seconds. Its geting fuel but no spark I think. How do I check for spark?

take out a spark plug and hook your spark plug wire to it, then use insolated pliers or the sort and hold the plug very close to the engine block or other metal on the buggy and have someone crank the engine over. You should see a little blue spark if its getting juice. Make sure you use pliers with rubber handles or you will get one ...... of a zap if its getting spark.
