I recently bought a 94 Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 5.2L and full time 4wd. Gas mileage has been 13 mpg the last three tanks. Is this normal? The engine runs smoothly and the air filter looks brand new.

Sounds normal for an older v8 in an all-wheel drive vehicle. Best you could probably hope for is 15-17mpg, 15 more reasonably achieved.

Thanks, BH. Specs say 15 city, 20 hwy. My old 86 gmc (4" lift, 35X12.50, 305) gets better mileage, but at least I don't have to jump to get in 
I have a 5.9 with 6 inche and 35s, intake , exhaust, superchip, and intake in my truck and I get 10. I do drive a little heavy on the pedal and around town alot . My last truck got 9 so I'd be happy with 13 . Seems normal to me. Lift , tires, exhaust, age, Intake and so on all take away gas milage but they sure do run good huh? specs seem to be a little over done on most cars but modify them then the specs do'nt count anymore
