4x4 XJ donor

So a buddy of mine has an 87' XJ 4x4 with the 5 speed trans, im probably going to buy it from him to convert mine to 4x4, but I need your opinions, should I stick with my AW4 or should I go for the 5 speed in the donor XJ? What's better for offroad use in your opinion? Keep in mind i'm not building a rock crawler, just mud everywhere around here lol

You can not reuse your AW4, it's a 2wd transmission, you would need a 4wd AW4 in order to stick with the automatic.

I prefer the manual offroad myself.

Oh so I guess im going with a 5 speed then huh lol unless I want to buy a 4x4 AW4, be cheaper just to use the 5 speed. Thanks though man!
