I have a 94 wrangler with a High Energy 4x4 Comp cam for the 258 4.2l engine, and i was wondering if anyone knows where I can get Valve springs that will fit the smaller seats on the 4.0L head? right now i am using my stock springs, but an worried about them breaking or possibly floating a lifter. Was also wondering if anyone has tried the SS SYE kits and what kind of feed back you might have. I have a NV4500 with the NP231 behind it and a standard SYE Kit, and a chrysler 8.25" in rear with 4.56 and detroits front and rear. Thanks for the help!!

you can order either Mopar performance springs in your size or Comp cams has valve springs for the 4.0L heads.
Summit racing has everything you would need.

i bought the cam in a kit, timing chain, springs, lifters, etc, but the springs were to big to sitg on my seats, the cam kit is actually for the 4.2L 258 and not the 4.0L 242, i have not seen a cam actually for the 4.0L, and all of the springs i have found at summit online or mopar performance online are for the 4.2L

Try Mopar Performance valve spring # P5249464. It's listed for the Magnum v8's but worked well in my 4banger, I'm pretty confident it will fit the 4.0L as well.

just found this online when i googled the part #

Advance auto parts sells mopar performance valve springs p5249464 for $6.99. Best price I have found so far. Go to www.advanceautoparts.com, click on shopping and enter p5249464 in the search. These valve springs have a 270# spring rate, and install the same height as stock springs. Good for up to 525 lift. The spring rate is less than comp cams and crane cams springs recommended for thier cams. Should be easier on camshaft lobes.

also take number one plug out and turn motor over by hand till piston is TDC and see where your timing marks line up as well as the rotor button in the distributor, to see if the timing chain jumped or is off its mark
