Just rebuilt my carb. It starts but will not idle. played with all the adjustments but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Welcome to jeepz.com.
Assuming there were no issues with ignition timing , secondary ignition , fuel delivery and engine ran reasonably well otherwise ( I.E. Idling and acceleration ) let's focus on the rebuild. I don't like to question anyone's ability but must ask a few questions to rule out overlooked items. We're all internal ports cleaned out , were there any leaks from any fuel well plugs , did all the gaskets match properly and no ports are covered and vacuum flowing properly ? The float height adjustment set properly ? The accelerator linkage set back in original position ? What happens when the engine starts , does it die immediately ? Does it run and die after a few seconds or does it doe when you attempt to accelerate ? The power valve should only install one way but we're you satisfied it installed correctly and no vacuum leaks are caused to its diaphragm ? Do you find a puddle of raw fuel below the throttle blades on the intake manifold ? If able to keep the engine running , is raw fuel dripping or running from the clusters at idle until it dies ? The only fuel that should enter the engine at idle should be a fuel/air mixture from the idle ports . The reason I ask if gaskets installed correct and vacuum ports clear is to be sure no air bleeds are covers and that air is entering the idle port to make the fuel/air mixture or the engine will simply stall or not start with too rich a mixture upon starting. The choke closes off most air to engine and vacuum pulls fuel/air mixture through idle ports out below the throttle blades to run the engine at idle. If choke is set right and float adjustment right as well , we need to know what is being pulled from the idle ports and hopefully not from clusters at idle . Please check this and post what you've found when you can . Again , it is not my position to question anyone's expertise , I know that sometimes things can get overlooked when time is of essence or if a step (s) was forgotten . It happens to us all but we want to find the cause and get it running after your rebuild effort .
