2005 Wrangler tires

I bought my son a 2005 Wrangler for his 16th birthday. Well of course it needs new tires and rims. And
I have to admit those stock 15" rims and tires do look a little wimpy to me. He likes the Dick Cepek DC-2 rims and wants to lift it 2" and put some beefier tires (wider and taller than stock) on it. I need suggestions and help. One of you Jeep gurus help a brotha out. Thanks.

Here's my 99 with a 1.75" budget boost lift with 15x8 DC-2's and 31x10.50x15's.
It rides and handles the same as stock.

Make sure if you go wider or taller tires you get less back spacing rims to offset the change. If you don't the tire will rub the control arms when near full turn.

With 2 in budget boost 31 will fit and 33s with a add 1.25 body lift.

Thanks wwch99tj. That was exactly the help I was looking for. Other than the lift did anything else have to be done for the tires to fit properly? Those pics were great just what I was looking for. Thanks again!

No I put the Dc-2's and 31's on before I had the lift...
When I put the lift on all I did was extend the rear bumpstops enough to clear the budget boost puck and realigned the front. It's been on 45k with zero problems
Here's a pic before the lift

From a similar angle with lift

Goodyear Wrangler Authority 30.433" tall by 10.872" wide, I didn't need any spacer because the wheels have 3 5/8" backspacing, which is plenty to keep the tires away from the suspension component
