CJ 7 quadra-trac: partime or fulltime ?

I have a 2001 Cherokee sport and at highway speeds of about 65-70 MPH, the car shakes violentyl after hitting bumps on the road. I have to pull the car over for the car to stop shaking. It only happens after bumps at high speeds. Has anyone else experienced this? The dealer is not yet sure what the problem is....

because you called it a car  ......try the cherokee section of this site.

Could be a Shifted belt in one of you tires. How old are they? Could be a warped Rim, have you hit any curbs? Could be Alignment.

Could be a ball joint (not that familiar with Cherokees.)

as for the mods, I haven't done any. I bought the car used and evidently there was an after market steering damperer, which was replaced with a stock one. That is the only mod I'm aware off.

i just got over my death woble, after hitting a bump it felt like the whole front axle was about to shake itself off.... and after some investogating i found that my track bar was loose, tightened her up and i was on my way again with out any problems, but i would check the easier things first like the tires then the hub bearings and then the ball joints. if those dont solve the problem the start looking into linkages and bent parts.
