2000 transmission swap, auto to maunal.

i have a 2000 cherokee with 4.0 and auto, the transmission is going bad and i have always wanted to do a manual swap. What transmissions would be compatible with a 2000, could i use a manual from a 95 because a local junkyard is holding it for me if i want it. Any ideas? thanks...

Yes, you can use a manual from a '95, but the harness connection for the CPS may be different.

so if it is different, could i just splice the connections together? Would i also need a computer for manual 4.0?
