Hey guys, I have taken my cat converter off (pointless little thing) , can i run with my o2 sensor unplugged, ever since i took ithe cat off, my engine light stays on. My engine also has no power anymore. I am about to do my timing chain and fuel injectors possibly. What else could i do to regain some power. I already have a k&n filter and free flow exhaust. Jeep 2.5's suck! I used to be able to spin my tires on pavement, now i can't anymore. only 96,000 miles :? :? :?

Of course you lost power and the Check engine light is on.... you've just confused the ECU, which controls the Jeep

.

As long as that sensor gives false readings or stays unplugged, your Jeep will run like crap. For what it's worth (like a Jeep that runs properly), I'd reinstall a working Catalytic converter, it was put there for a reason

Sorry, just my $.02

Leave the o2 sensor plugged in, it's ahead of the cat and shouldn't have anything to do with you removing the cat. I'm doubtful you were ever able to spin the tires with the 2.5L

I chirp the tires behind my 2.5L all the time, but then again the rear diff is welded, so that's cheatin

They wouldn't do a lot of spinning, i wont unplug my o2 sensor, i just read that somebody did, i was curious because that little thing tells the computer what to do.
