A friend of mine has a 1998 XJ 4.0 2wd that he's asked me to work on. It was throwing a code for the camshaft position sensor but funny enough my haynes manual doesn't list an official "CPS" so to speak for anything older then a 2000. Is the cam sensor on the older XJ's that metal ring under the rotor button inside the distributor? And if so does anyone know where I can get one besides the dealership? Thanks y'all!
