    Ground wire burned

I think you are looking for a Motorcraft ignition control module: [/IMG] I don't have a v8 but I burned up a couple of the cheap ICM's after I did the Nutter/ TFI upgrade. I have had good luck with the Niehoff brand (Advanced Auto Parts P/N FF402CS) about $30. I hope this helps. Good luck.

    258 Intake Manifold / Heater

The red thing on top of the intake, just forward of the carb is a knock sensor http://home.sprynet.com/~dale02/knock.htm since your jeep is a '79 you have no computer (MCU) and the knock sensor will not be used.

    258 Intake Manifold / Heater

You will need to find the OP switch connector in your harness (if not cut off by PO) http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/RLBJeep/DSC01417.jpg. There are 2 red wires, 1 red and 1 red w/white tracer leading into the connector. 1 has power with the key in the on position. The other wire should...

    258 Intake Manifold / Heater

Here is a better explanation and pictures of the manifold heater http://home.sprynet.com/~dale02/manifold.htm. If you find out what that red thing is please post http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/RLBJeep/DSC00221Medium.jpg as it is on my list of parts disconnected by the PO that need to be...

Where to these connect to stock wiring harness???

 Help needed from CJ owner with stock wiring harness, 258 and digital camera... I just installed a weber 34 and am having trouble with the electric choke wiring. not getting fuel.....i think

Yes, I am pretty sure you have to do the Nutter anytime you disconnect a computer controlled stepper motor from the BBD. If not the computer will continue to make adjustments to the timing. I have attached a good link that is very helpful in completing this mod. Good luck...

    not getting fuel.....i think

Let us know what happens. Do a search on the Nutter Bypass for the YJ. I think it should be done if you are running a weber on a 4.2 in place of the bbd w/ stepper. I remember reading that the YJ wiring is the same but the color of some of the wires is different. I am far from an electrical wiz...

    not getting fuel.....i think

If the symptoms were reversed I would say you have a fuel pick up issue, but your problems don't surface until you have over a 1/2 tank of gas. I would look down the barrels of that carb, first at idle, then at over 2,000 RPM and see what the fuel delivery looks like, you may have an accelerator...

Fuel filter/ pressure regulator install order?

I installed the weber with FP regulator and it runs great. I installed a plastic see through fuel filter before the fuel pump then a hard line to the carb side of the engine and then installed the FPR and finally a 1 in/ 2 out fuel filter. Runs great and hopefully the fuel filter before the FPR...

    not getting fuel.....i think

What type of fuel filter are you running? It should be a 1 in, 2 out type with the bypass connected to a fuel tank return line that runs to the gas tank. Do you have a charcoal canister? Fuel pressure regulator? Vapor lock could be an issue without the proper venting. What tpye of Weber are you...

Can anyone offer some Weber help???

We have just installed a weber 34 DGEC on an 84 CJ with 258 and manual trans. The carb has PCV port on one of the adapter plates, a vac advance port on the carb and the jeep has a manifold vac port. The carb does not appear to have a bowl vent. It is now time to hook up the vac lines but would...

Fuel filter/ pressure regulator install order?

Thanks for the advice. I have installed a see through fuel filter before the fuel pump, then before the carb I installed the fuel pressure reg., and finally the 1 in/ 2 out fuel filter. If it does not run properly I will switch the pressure reg. and fuel filter. My main concern now is the...

Fuel filter/ pressure regulator install order?

Going to install a Weber 34 on an 84 CJ. I have searched this forum and others and have the following question..Does the install go Fuel filter, fuel pressure reg. the carb or fuel pressure reg., fuel filter then carb? We will be using a 1 in/ 2 out fuel filter to prevent vapor lock. If we...
