    tps question

I have a 00 tj with the 4.0. Awhile back my engine light came on. It stayed on for two days and went off on its own. About a week later it came on again but this time it was idling around 2000 rpm's and surging like crazy so i hooked a scanner up and it showed low voltage to the tps. I bought a...

In need of best top softtop hardware

I need a set of hardware for a best top super top. If anyone has a complete set in good usable shape for a 00 TJ hit me up. I have a good top and most of the hardware already but I know most people don't want to break a set up to sell a few parts. Again, if u have a good complete set and would...

    Re-gearing

Xjmarc is spot on. You need to make sure u find a reputable garage if your gonna shell out that kind of money. Just a hair out and you'll be doing it all over again in no time. A lot of jeep guys do their own. You may ask around and find one near you that would be willing to do the job for a lot...

    Re-gearing

It really depends on if your doing the swap or paying a garage. I was quoted $1100 parts and labor to have my yj done a few years back. I didn't want to fork out that kind of cash at the time so I found a complete front and rear out of a 4 cyl. wrangler with 4.10s and swapped it all out myself...

    Best paint for flares

I live about 2 1/2 hours from Cincy down near Ashland, Ky. If the guy before me hadn't already painted them I could have brought the color back out with a butane torch. Don't know if any of you have tried this but it really works well if you watch what your doing and don't overheat them. It...

    Best paint for flares

Isn't the powder coat a heated process? I may be wrong but I think I recall someone telling me you can't powder coat plastic because of the heat involved. I think I'll just go with the fusion till I replace them. I've been kinda hinting around about new ones with fathers day coming up. Maybe...

    Best paint for flares

The flares on my TJ are in need of a fresh coat of paint. I would normally never paint them but the previous owner already did and obviously used crappy paint as it is starting to flake off. There in good shape so I figured I would strip the rest of it off and start fresh. Just wondering what...

    4" lift for 95 YJ

Soa is short for spring over axle. You remove your axles, cut the perches off and remount them on top of the axles and mount the axles below your leaf springs giving you close to 4 inches of lift. You would also need to use a transfer case drop and a few other mods. It's also recommended to do a...

    4" lift for 95 YJ

If your going for cheap do a soa conversion. That would give you your 4 inches or very close to it. Everybody knocks rough country but I've had my yj for over 3 years and never had a problem with it and that's what it had when I bought it. I don't wheel mine hardcore but it does a descent job on...

    Rear diff question.

I actually got the little gears to line up first try. Had to fidget with the washers a little but no problems at all. Two of the gears were completely gone and two were not bad except for a little scarring. I kind of thought that was a little odd. Took three cans of brake cleaner to spray all...

    Rear diff question.

Got my parts at 3:00 o'clock and by 4:30 I was cruising down the road. Went ahead and changed out the rear brakes while I had the wheels and hubs off. The spider gears were a pretty straight forward simple task. Thanks to everyone again for the help.

    Rear diff question.

My parts should be here tomorrow so hopefully I can get it put back together. I'm pretty good with a wrench on most things but am lost when it comes to gearing or anything in the diff for that matter. Good way to learn I guess. Thanks for your help guys.

    Rear diff question.

I've never done one so what's the easiest way to get the two small gears back in place?

    Rear diff question.

Can I pull the carrier and replace it without screwing up my ring and pinion settings? I have a busted spider gear in the TJ and have been told its easier to fix by pulling the carrier and doing it on the bench but I don't want to screw with it if it requires redoing ring and pinion. It's a...

    Clutch opinions

I just recently bought a 00 TJ 4.0 5 speed. My question is when releasing the clutch to take off my clutch pedal comes way up before catching and I'm just wondering where everybody else's catches at? My 95 does the exact same thing and so does my buddy's 97. I have never had an issue with...

Exhaust trouble/ extreme loss in power

You can take the exhaust loose right where it connects to the converter and use a long bar to jam in there and open it back up. Way cheaper than buying a new converter. After you get a hole opened up start the jeep and blow the chunks out of it and hook your exhaust back up. Put your new muffler...

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Gave both of mine a good wash and wax job and detailed the inside. Then I took off the hardtop on the yj and put the softtop back on. Lastly I changed the oil in both and checked all the fluids. All day job but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

    Brake light problems

Got it fixed. Evidently the third brake light is on another circuit or something. The problem was the multifunction switch(turn sign signal switch). It was dirty and and not getting good connection. I wiggled the hazard switch around and sprayed some contact spray on it and presto, brake lights...
