    Jeep advice Please

Welcome to the site. I'd say grab an older TJ or YJ. I heard the newer engines lack in power. I think the 2 and the 4 door are just down to what you like better. Older jeep engines are great 4 or the 6, if down the road you plan on lifting it up go with the 6. Either way you can't go wrong.

    YJ Half Doors

Got a set of YJ half doors. Red, tan inside, no grab handles, no hinge nuts. Its the kind without cylinders or locks. Looking to get 100 bucks for the set. I'll post some pictures if anyone wants. No idea about shipping, my guess it would cost too much. In northeast NJ. Will deliver up to like...

    Lift kit YJ

All depends on you and what you plan on using it for. If its your daily driver and only hits the trails on weekends or maybe once a month I wouldn't go bigger than 33" tires. Lots of good kits out there, read some reviews. Its hard to get opinions about what kits are better. I had a skyjacker...

    winch help???

Winches use alot of juice. Sounds like a dead battery. If charging doesn't work I'm sure a new battery will. What type of battery do you have?

    87 trans stuck in gear

Being that its an 87 and that BA10 didn't die already is a shock. My 88 with that trans is half dead, always gets stuck in first. Kinda a pain at traffic lights or stop signs. I'm going to dump an NV3550 in it soon. I don't think there is much point in rebuilding those trans as they stink.

    Steering Wheel Spins Freely

Welcome to the site. Check to see if the steering shaft for some reason came loose, broke or fell off. If you can spin it around and around with no resistance at all that's my guess. Check out that and all the front end parts to see if they are all connected and such.

    carbureted I-6 fuel injection conversion

I picked the howell kit for my 88 4.2L YJ. Plan on doing the install next weekend or so. A friend of mine has one and loves it. Looks easy enough to install too.

    YJ/TJ recommended mileage

The 2.5 and the 4.0 are great engines either the YJ or the TJ. I think either one you pick will be fine. If you like AC i'd get a TJ. Its harder to find a YJ with AC.

whats the best shocks for your ride?

I had skyjackers on my TJ years ago. Those things rotted out fast. Rust ate one of them and leaked. The jeep was stolen before I replaced them, whoever the clown is that stole it can deal with it now.

    roll bar help

I would agree and say make your own, it'll be cheaper and you can have it the way you want. I'm pretty sure the 5 and the 7 are a little different so a 7 cage won't work. There are alot of write ups on CJ5 custom cages, google some. I did find this... FAMILY ROLL CAGE KIT CJ5, 6 POINT That...

    YY extreme coil link suspension..

I know fabtech makes one for use with stock axles. Its done with coil up front and an SOA type leaf set up in the rear. Huge price tag at 6K+ Most of the others I've seen are all 6"+ lift and say not to use the 35. Those also cost alot, ya might as well sell the YJ and buy a TJ.

    Axel Tube Seal installation question

I don't think you reuse those old plastic dust covers with the new seal, wouldn't see why you couldn't break it to remove. Are you going to have the same issue sliding the new ones on?

    Whats the best lift kit?

Read some reviews. Some people may have bad feelings to one company or another and others good. If you didn't replace the extend or buy longer lines for your TJ I can see that happening with a stock lines and 4" of lift. Bigger always means more parts in the end. See who sells the most complete...

Locked radio (stock) on Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 1996.

My brother owned a honda and the radio was in lockout mode. His had to be running for 2 hours for the code input to show up again. Not sure if its the same, but the honda dealer said it had to be running. Whaddya got to lose besides some gas?

    leak in tj

Is it only when you are driving it? or even if the car sits in the rain? If its only when you are riding in it, one or more of the floor plugs might be out and kicking up water into the hole. If it happens when it also sits, check the vents. There is a drainage tube that might be clogged, if it...
