actuator is working and key wont unlock it... sounds like it does, but no result

recently locked my door and now it doesn't seem to unlock. neither inside or outside handle will open the door. tried unlocking with the key, inside button and power unlock... no avail....... any ideas???????

i have a 94 cherokee and the welds broke on the driver door. is there a better way to repair them than just rewelding? any help would be greatly appreciated i am tired of climbing the console.
