so doing some exhaust investigation while changing oil today. i found out that the exhaust from the engine back to the catalytic converter is a nice mandrel bent 2.5" pipe. HOWEVER... the exit pipe from the cat is 2.25" and then after the muffler, it goes into some fairly constrictively bent...

FINALLY found it ... way way way up inside the rear body panel behind the tail light. i got frustrated and jsut started tugging on wires...eventually the plug came down and i was able to splice the harnass in.

at work we have a 5.3L tahoe that we use to pull a 25' boston whaler boat. it has twin 150 outboards, a 150gal tank of gas, and typically has 500lbs of dive gear in it. i would think with the trailer, boat, motors, and gear we are EASILY pushing 6000Lbs or more...(total guess) it tows it...

come on guys....i need to tow this thing this weekend. SOMEONE on here must have a jeep with a trailer hitch!!!! just tell me which side the wires lead to for the tail light harness...PLEASE!!

update...it isn't the trailer where the FK is the connector?? the harness is for 98-04 wranglers...so it's the right harness the directions say the connector is on the passenger side under the mud flap...i'll be damned if i can find it!!! the one on the driver side still doesn't...

some interesting tests on various mufflers between 3 popular mufflers, flowmaster 2 chamber, dynomax superturbo and hooker aero chamber...the flowmaster was last in performance. the amazing performer is the Hooker MaxFlow ...wow

exactly... flowmasters are good mufflers and are an improvement over stock. but when you see of guys dyno back to back gains of 5-8hp by removing the flowmaster in place of other brands, or from bypassing the muffler altogether...ya start to realize that the "signature flowmaster sound" is...

i have a slightly different outlook on the flowmaster pieces. are they better than stock ....hell yeah do they sound good....hell yeah are they the best flowing full size muffler out there...not even close! time and again dyno and track results have proven that the Flowmaster catback on v8...

ok...i'm new to jeeps...but not new to automotive performance. but who did you get the info on unplugging the O2 sensor from? that sensor is not there only for emissions. it's there as a VITAL feedback sensor for the computer to adjust the long term and short term fuel trim...ie...a/f ratio...

2.25" pipe has 18% less cross sectional area... any power you're picking up from the free-er flowing muffler you're now losing with the piping
