More about that little offroad incident I told you about

1052054 Being a criminal justice major- I would have to agree with judge09- if you were trespassing on land you weren't supposed to be on and damaged your vehicle, then I don't see the right you would have to sue the land owner if this is indead what is happening. The judge will ask why were...

So What's in Your Tool Bag!

1052055 I usually try and carry a set of tools, tow strap and chains, and extra oil and some ATF fluid just in case as well. Allow with that I carry an assortment of zip ties and some duct tape. If whatever you broke can't be temporarily fixed with either a zip tie or some duct tape, consider...

Ok, lets get this straight... NO!!! I SAID STRAIGHT!!!!

1052071 Being from the same town as snitty, I will agree with him that his drinkin buddies are not smart enough to know the difference between a right and left handed screwdriver.... but to the problems with the steering box.... it baffles me. I have seen his Jeep and it is in good working...

    H2 vs. Rubicon

1052368 I must say that even though the H2 is nice, I don't think its a 'true' Hummer, to me all it basically is a Chevy Tahoe/Suburban frame/drivetrain with a different body on it that resembles a Hummer. A more equal comparison would be an H1 vs. the Rubicon. But even then it not really...

Sway bar endlinks - can't remove!!

1052375 Having a Jeep that lived its life in NY winters, i have spent many hours under the Jeep workin with the torch and BMF hammer combo. Its a painstaking process but owning an older vehicle takes time, pain and effort sometimes...(along with many explicitives...)[addsig]

Hand throttles ... anybody using them?????

1052471 looks like a good idea- would be a nice thing to have also to help warm up the jeep on these cold winter mornings we have!! I hope to do that soon to mine...[addsig]

My aching back! 4" lift kits?

1050104 SOA is the way to go!!! Once again, another benefit to having leaf springs all around. You can get at least 5.5" of lift using your stock springs, and still maintain stock ride and have awesome articulation as well. Flat springs flex better than 'smiley' ones so thats another benefit...

BANG! sound when I shift into 4x4

1050108 You can shift into 4WD High while underway, just make sure your rear tires aren't spinning, if they are it will put a lot of stress on the front axles since they will suddenly be forced to spin faster. This is very hard on all the parts of the drivetrain. As long as it hasn't done it...

    HAHAHAHAHA

1050206 The same sayin holds true.... LOWRIDERS ARE FOR GUYS THAT CAN'T GET IT UP!!!!! There must a problem with a man's functionality if he chooses to lower his jeep... [addsig]

    Big Jeep?

1050409 Right now I am looking to mount up a set of 38.5x15's on my 92 YJ. I hope that with the right gears and axles that my little 2.5 will be able to turn those monsters. I am also going to add in some more height so I can still flex my axles when I need too, even though those monsters...

    Jeep and Hummer Offspring?

1050415 I know we as Jeepers love to rip on the Hummers. But as big as we make our Jeeps and as much as we put into them, the Hummers will always have something we don't- PLANETARY DRIVE!!! (I am talking about the real Hummers, not the painsy H2's) I would love to be able to drive on of...

    stop the water

1050417 If your body is rusted that bad, I would assume you have rust other places as well. If you have the $$ I would almost recommend buying a new fiberglass tub. i have seen them from JCWhitney for around $1100. I know that sounds steep, but think of it this way- The time you spend...

still have the stock air intake box on your wrangler? Want a

1050419 Yup, did this to mine before i even had it 5 minutes so i didn't notice any difference really. But I have heard it does help. Also, another thing to do would be to go to your local autozone and buy a cone filter, a pvc elbow and mount that under the hood. Gets a lot more air, just...

    Letter to Car and Driver

1050422 I agree with that statement as well, but the Hummers do have planetary drive which is very nice and creates a lot of ground clearance as well, also has totally independant suspension which again is nice. (This is of course the real military hummers, not the painsy civilian models.)...

    HAHAHAHAHA

1050604 good point judge, as a owner of a '94 Z28 that is lowered and has MANY mods to the motor, I would have to agree that as car/jeep/truck owners that we probably all were at one point, we should love all vehicles. I have respect for anyone who does do things to their vehicle. This...

    yellowish ornage arrow

1051002 Yup, arrow is basically a shift light. I have grown to ignore mine since it would take a month to get to 60 if you shifted when it said too. These are nothing but the good ol' gov't stepping in to try and regulate emissions and efficiency....[addsig]

    Snow!!

1051004 I love driving in the snow, although the only time it gets nasty is when you can't see. But being up higher in my Jeep I have the added bonus of being able to have more lights on down low which cuts down on the 'starfield' effect of driving with lots of lights when the snow is heavy...

Loud pop when taking tight turn

1051007 If you were to keep driving in a tight turn, i.e. parking lot, would it keep doing it, or does the Jeep have to return to center to do it again? If the Jeep has to be going straight again I would suspect that a body mount is broken and the remainder of it is rubbing back and forth when...

    Snow!!

1051008 Also-despite what many people think, a smaller footprint is usually preferred in snow. A bigger footprint will float on top of the snow, not what you usually want. A smaller footprint will put more pressure on the snow and let the tire grip better. There are occasions in snow where a...
