    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

2 good pieces of news today. 1.) I have a Chrysler 8.25 axle not the D35 that was originally thought. 2.) The Jeepra is going on the dyno sometime this week. Bear in mind that it is in a highly detuned and purposefully weakened state right now, since I can't risk breaking anything. A highly...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

Still need to drill and tap the upper plenum, but this is essentially how the EGR system will be. I should be good using a Ford O2 up top and the Jeep O2 post-cat...they are all 4 wire. We'll see. Also need to mount the two vsv's and route the wiring and hoses for the EGR and the EVAP...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

Had to swap injector plugs for the new 550cc injectors. Now I'm working on tieing the EGR in to the manifold. Kinda hated to do this, but I should have known I'd need it and designed it in initially. Re-oriented the cast valve body. Cut a...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

So here is the emissions update. There is a new CEL letting me know it doesn't like the secondary speed sensor being gone. I'm going to try to just resistor it to the spec in the manual and see if that clears it. Might be different though. We'll see. Here in emissions counties in Texas I have...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

I've been really distracted with a Top Diesel project that sort of fell into my lap, and the race is this weekend, so it's hectic...however I did manage to get rid of the last Obd2 code and no longer have a CEL! Still need to wire in the rear O2 and fix a couple of safety inspection gigs...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

@Terry: I do not know. Down pipe and exhaust setup is built and complete. I have one remaining code that a resistor will take care of, I'm expecting an O2 code to show up, and for some reason she won't idle now and is shifting REALLY hard. I'm on Supraforums and going through factory...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

OBDII conversion complete. I had 4 codes, but all were related to devices that are no longer there. Resistors have been wired in and I will be clearing codes tomorrow. I expect more to show, since I still need to finish fabricating the exhaust and I don't have the rear OXY sensor wired to the...

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

I believe so. I am wrapping up the Obd2 conversion now, but I have a no fire condition. Troubleshooting now.

Middle fingers up to the EPA telling me "You can't do that, you should have asked us first."

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

J-Spec OBD1 conversion to US-Spec OBDII conversion: New MAF sensor and air filter setup physically installed. New injectors are bolted in, but I'm waiting for the proper injector plugs to continue. This pic is actually from before I swapped the rail. USDM injectors have purple plastic.

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

Yeah, the open holes through the firewall and trans tunnel don't do much to stop the sound from the open downpipe from getting in. I can't wait for all the details either. :)

    Cherokee Engine Swap: 2JZ-GTE

It is equivalent. Technically speaking, it is out of a Japanese right hand drive Toyota Aristo, which is a right hand drive version of the Lexus GS300 used as cabs and what not in Japan. I buy "Supra" parts for it though, as they all bolt right on to the setup. In it's stock form, the 2JZ-GTE...
