Okay, I guess it was.."Meant to be"

Man, you can HAVE funky pong. I'm not torturing myself with that again. And congratulations to you and your dad. Great news at a great time.

    Professional courtesy?

Don't screw up your job dude. If the crew really cares, they will understand when it's all over. If not.....oh well, don't screw up your income over it. I would tell them prior to telling my boss, like tell them at lunch and your boss at the end of the day. Two weeks notice is plenty for your...

    T5 Transmission

The T5 is obviously a 5 speed. First gear is somewhere around 4.03:1 if I remember correctly, and 5th is overdrive. You can either love them for their gearing, or hate them for their tendency to blow the #*$@ up. Same bolt pattern as the NP Tcases, but the pattern is clocked differently. The...

    4x4 Not 4x4ing

No, it's a different thing. The wheels will be spinning the differential and Dshaft while driving. The front wheels still won't be driven though because the Tcase won't be locked in.

    Christmas Pets

As much as the politics of the organization bother me, it's people and businesses like those feed stores that make me turn a blind eye when PETA throws bricks through their front windows. What the hell is wrong with parents and kids when they think it's fun to abuse and torture animals and then...

    The arcade is open!

That's a cool little addition to the site Terry! Thanks I though the chopper game sucked.....but I had trouble giving up on it too, I think I killed a good dozen chopper pilots before I gave up.

does the oil pressure sender connect to the ECU?

I just did the same thing in my TJ after the sending unit went out. I never trusted the factory gauge anyway, so I went with a mechanical. The only thing that happened was that the "check gauges" light came on, so I'm going to yank that bulb. I don't see you having any problems.

    TJ flares on old CJ

I don't think I've ever seen them on a pre-76 Jeep......hmmm, good question. Got any friends with a TJ? Take one of their flares off and mock it up. I think your troubles are going to come from the body indentations around the rear wheel openings. Your sig description of the CJ sounds nice!

    Stroker Build

The 360 is an AMC V8. They weren't available in the SWB, those only got a 304. The AMC 360 was available in SJs from the early 70s until they quit making them, so it's got plenty of history between Jeep fenders. I'm all about keeping them "all Jeep" too. As far as the AMC being easier to...

    Welder choices

MIG is just so easy and fast. I hate stick welding. TIG is my preference if I can get whatever I'm working on to the bench, but our foot pedal and torch setup make it kind of a hassle to weld anything on the vehicle. If you only own or have access to one welder though, MIG is the way to go for...

    Stroker Build

How much power do you need? Is 400hp enough? That's not hard with an AMC 360. The Chevrolet smallblock will always be king, but the AMC has the ease of installation on it's side here. By the time you get all of the parts to install the Chevy you've more than covered the parts price difference...

    35 spline dana 44?

I like these upgrades. I really like D44s but sometimes they are just out of their league. These kits and new parts help bridge the gap. A new carrier and some 33 spline superior shafts combined with the best R&P gears you can afford and a full truss would be sweet. It would make most D60s look...

    Stroker Build

I think that Toyota used a very similar transmission to the AX15 in the Supra....might be a place to get upgrade internals. I wouldn't be scared to run one behind a stroker if it was already there, but keep in mind that it won't handle abuse behind a healthy I6 for too long....stroked or not...

    Terrain

I can dig the off-camber stuff that makes parts of your anatomy pucker up, but the slow speed aspect of it reduces my interest somewhat. I like anything that involves acceleration, but I guess my favorite would still be just a good old dirt trail(preferably wet) with an assortment of things to...

    Brass Monkey Alert!!

The guys at work were saying that the weatherman is calling for possible snow HERE towards the end of the week. If it does, it probably won't hang around long enough to accumulate but I can keep my fingers crossed.

    New Jeep Magazine

I still pick up almost every JP issue, but it has dropped way off in quality of content. On the other hand though, I don't really remember what it was like when it first came out and those issues are so old that I'd need a whole day just to locate them. I do seem to remember a short time...

    Internet Explorer or Firefox

You guys should try Netscape browser if you are switching back and forth between IE and Firefox. Just set it up to run like Firefox until you get to one of those sites that FF doesn't display correctly, then change the settings for that site only so it displays like IE. I only have to use...

    Internet Explorer or Firefox

I use the Netscape browser. It has tabs too and works very similar to Firefox. I like the fact that I can set it up to display individual websites like Firefox or IE. I have it display like Firefox all the time except for a few sites which like IE better. Not many updates or add-ons though.

    Stroker Build

I can't remember the weights, but they aren't as far apart as you would think. Don't get me wrong here, I'm all about making the guy with the bigger engine feel bad. I LOVE the inline sixes when they're built right. Even so, the 360 is easier, cheaper, and has more potential.....bottom line...
