yup shouldn't be that bad, drain the coolant (i'd just disconnect the lower rad hose) and unbolt the thing. make sure u get a new gasket and see that the old one is completely cleaned off...

running rich like that could theoretically clog your catalytic converter, overheat your spark plugs, foul them, stall out, not start.... it sounds like you need to have your carb removed, cleaned, and reinstalled...

i'd go for the ARB, if you have the money... they're bombproof. they weigh a TON tho, so be careful. might want to look into stiffer springs to retain stock ride height...

as long as the frame is solid, just swap out that rusty body for fiberglass (or just repair it, whatever floats your boat) just realize that "rust" is synonymous with "huge project"

well with the standard conversion, you'd need a new pedal assembly, another hole in the firewall, clutch master & slave cylinders, and obviously the new transmission itself. its quite a conversion and most people agree that its more worthwhile to just find a jeep with the manual transmission in...
